MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Little Rock men's outdoor track and field team began its 2018 season this weekend at the Rhodes Invitational.

Charles Okeze won the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.60 — the eighth-fastest time in program history.
Ch'kilas Calhoun took seventh with a time of 49.74.

Nghia Dinh was third in the triple jump with a distance of 13.53 meters — setting a new personal record and putting down the eighth-best mark in program history.

Noah Smith placed third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.91.
Imad Amenzou took ninth with a time of 1:57.73. Medina finished 15th with a time of 1:59.17, and
Hunter Tucker took 21st in 2:00.81.

Jaelon Gossett finished sixth in the 110-meter hurdle with a time of 15.40 — the eighth-fastest time in program history. Gossett then took seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.73 for the 10-fastest time in program history.

Emilio Medina took eighth in the one-mile run with a time of 4:25.52.

Keshawn Andrews came in ninth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.839 while teammate
Travion Clark took 11th with a time of 10.95.

In the 3,000-meter steeplechase,
Rogelio Araiza placed 12th with a time of 10:06.55.

Clark was Little Rock's top finisher in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.13 as he finished 14th.
Jalen Black was 25th with a time of 22.52.

Little Rock's season will continue next weekend as it heads to Houston for the Victor Lopez Classic hosted by Rice and the Harding Invitational up in Searcy.
