Trojans Prepped for Busy Weekend at Rice, Harding

LITTLE ROCK – The outdoor track and field teams of Little Rock will be represented in two separate meets this weekend as one group will travel to the Victor Lopez Classic hosted by Rice in Houston, Texas, while the other group makes the short trip up to Searcy for the Harding Invitational. The Victor Lopez Classic will take place on Friday and Saturday while the Harding Invitational will take place on Saturday.
 
Little Rock will begin competition at 7:10 p.m. on Friday at Rice while the Trojans' meet at Harding will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
 
Live results will be available for both meets.
 

• Shanieke Watson comes into the weekend as the reigning Sun Belt Conference Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
• In the 5,000, Watson has the 19th-fastest time in the NCAA West Region and the 33rd-fastest time nationally at 17:30.30.
• When converted from the mile, Watson has the second-fastest 1500-meter time in the Sun Belt this season at 4:42.76.
• Charles Okeze has the 40th-fastest 400-meter time in the NCAA West Region and third-fastest time in the Sun Belt at 48.60.
• Okeze, Travion Clark, Ch'kilas Calhoun and Keshawn Andrews have the 18th-fastest 4x100 relay time in the NCAA West Region and fourth-fastest time in the Sun Belt at 40.72.
• Nghia Dinh has the best triple jump mark in the Sun Belt and 42nd-best mark in the NCAA West Region at 13.53 meters.
• Hunter Paul's 5000-meter time of 17:56.99 is 34th in the NCAA West Region and fifth in the Sun Belt.

 
After this weekend, Little Rock will head to Oxford, Mississippi, for the Ole Miss Classic on March 31.
