SAN MARCOS, Texas – In the second day of action at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship, Little Rock's
Shanieke Watson won the Women's 3,000-Meter Steeplechase Championship on Saturday night at Texas State.

Watson clocked a time of 10:43.08 to earn Little Rock 10 points and finished the race 10.40 seconds ahead of second place. This was Watson's first outdoor title since transferring to Little Rock, and she's the first Trojan to earn a championship in the steeplechase since Emma Dahl in 2016.

In the 400 prelim,
Helensia Green finished 11th with a time of 56.98 seconds.
Jessica Gray was 14th with a personal record of 57.36 seconds, and
Dasia Harris took 22nd in 59.72 seconds.
Akeia Joyner placed 23rd in 1:01.39.

Ka'Neisha Jackson took 18th in the 100 prelim with a time of 12.06 seconds — the eighth-fastest time in program history.
Brandi Allen was 27th in 12.46 seconds.

Nicole Edison placed 18th in the long jump with a mark of 5.44 meters — .01 shy of her personal record.

Overall, Little Rock is currently tied for eighth with 10 points heading into the final day of competition.
