LITTLE ROCK – The Sun Belt Conference has released the 2019 league basketball schedule for all 12 programs, setting up the conference slate for Little Rock. The Trojans open up league play the first weekend of January, running through March 9.
2019 Trojan Sun Belt Basketball Schedules: Men | Women
The 2019 Sun Belt Conference schedule will be comprised of a mirror scheduling format with the Trojan men and women playing the same opponent in different locations on a given day. The lone exception to that format is when Little Rock faces rival Arkansas State with the Trojans and Red Wolves going head-to-head in a doubleheader.
Little Rock's conference slate begins with the Louisiana pair of ULM (Jan. 3) and Louisiana (Jan. 5) the first weekend of January with the Trojan women opening the Sun Belt slate at home. Little Rock then takes on the Alabama tandem of Troy (Jan. 10) and South Alabama (Jan. 12), featuring the men at the Jack Stephens Center, following by the Texas two-step of Texas State (Jan. 17) and UT Arlington (Jan. 19) with the Trojan women facing the Bobcats in a rematch of last season's Sun Belt tournament title game.
January rounds out with the only matchups of the season against Coastal Carolina (Jan. 24) and Appalachian State (Jan. 26) with the Trojan men hosting the Chanticleers and Mountaineers.
February opens with the first installment of the rivalry showdown with Arkansas State on Saturday, February 2nd as the Trojans host the Red Wolves at the Jack Stephens Center at 3 p.m. (women) and 5:30 p.m. (men).
Little Rock then returns the home-and-home dates with Troy (Feb. 7) and South Alabama (Feb. 9), followed by UT Arlington (Feb. 14) and Texas State (Feb. 16), with the Little Rock women, then men playing host, respectively.
The yearly trip to Jonesboro will be on Saturday, February 23, as the Trojans and Red Wolves will square off once again in a doubleheader, closing out the yearly rivalry series.
Little Rock begins the home stretch of the conference slate with the lone games against Georgia Southern (Feb. 28) and Georgia State (Mar. 2), with the Trojan women hosting the Eagles and Panthers at the Jack Stephens Center. The 2019 conference season then closes out just as it began, facing Louisiana (Mar. 7) and ULM (Mar. 9) with the Trojan men closing out the regular season at home.
Thursday night games at the Jack Stephens Center will tip at 6:30 p.m. while Saturday afternoon games will get underway at 3 p.m.
