LITTLE ROCK, Ark.?The first ever UALR Trojan Swim Camp ended on Friday June 16th after a week of learning and fun at the Donaghey Student Center Natatorium. Twelve students took part in the camp coached by Richard Turner, Paul Blair, and Tom Genz.
“I thought the camp was very successful,” said Turner. “I was very pleased. It seemed all the campers learned a great deal about competitive swimming and all the training aspects around the sports that make successful swimmers.”
The campers received “in-water” instruction on stroke development and technique in all four competitive strokes and starts and turns.
The campers also viewed videos and attended lectures on nutrition, race preparation, mental focus, and strength and conditioning programs.
