CLEVELAND, Miss. ? The UALR Trojans swimming team competed against Delta State University, Lambuth University, and the University of New Orleans on the campus of Delta State today. The women's team captured a victory over Lambuth 93-74, but fell to Delta State 193-30, and UNO 177-41.
In the 300-yard freestyle, Brenda Gannon finished fifth with a time 3:11.49, edging teammate Chelsea Churchill who finished in 3:13.23 to place sixth. Churchill also finished fifth in the 75-yard backstroke in 51.22 seconds. Gannon finished fifth in the 150-yard freestyle with a time of 1:32.91. Trojan Emily Adams finished fourth in the 25-yard freestyle in 12.42 seconds.
The Trojans also scored a fifth place finish in the 100-yard medley relay. Gannon, Churchill, Adams, and Hannah May finished the race in 57.41 seconds.
The Trojans swimming team will be back in action on February 2 as the team travels to Arkadelphia, Ark. to take on Henderson State.
