NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The UALR baseball team (4-2) dropped its second contest of the season on Saturday with a 19-3 loss at the hands of the Bradley Braves (2-2) at Rose Park in Nashville, Tenn. The Bradley bats out-hit the Trojans 15-4 and hit four home runs on the day, including two by centerfielder Max Murphy, in addition to being helped by four Trojan errors.

Bradley's Joe Bircher (1-0) gave up just three runs on four hits in 8.1 innings of work to pick up his first win of the season.

Sophomore Ben Crumpton was the only UALR player with multiple hits in the game. Crumpton finished the day 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while juniors David Guarno and Tyler Cameron supplied the remaining two UALR base hits.

Both teams opened the games with a pair of scoreless frames before Bradley put up three runs in the top half of the third. An RBI single by Rob Elliot brought in the first run of the inning before a two-RBI double by Jason Leblebijian plated the Braves' final two runs of the frame to give BU a 3-0 lead.

Bradley tacked on three more in the fourth and two more in the fifth before a five-run explosion in the top of the sixth.

After the Braves loaded the bases to start the sixth inning, a pair of walks issued by freshman Matt Brown plated the first two Bradley runs of the inning. Following an infield RBI by Leblebigian, Greg Partyka ripped a two-RBI single through the right side to make it a 13-0 contest.

The Braves put up two runs in the top of the seventh and four in the top of the ninth before UALR got on the board with three runs in their final set of at bats. Cameron led off the inning with a double to right center, and freshman Brandon Gil reached on an error to give UALR runners at first and third with no outs. A double by Crumtpon to left field plated Cameron, and another double by Guarno later in the inning drove home the final two UALR runs of the inning.
