Laura Ruiz Astorga grabbed the Trojans' lone event win as Little Rock swimming and diving took losses to West Florida (164-76), Air Force (168-66) and Tulane (194.50-43.50) on Saturday.
Ruiz Astorga tied Tulane's Shelly Zelnick for the top time in the 100-yard backstroke as she came in at 57.79, the fastest time this season for a Trojan swimmer.
Shayna Underwood and
Courtney Goff also raced in the event and took time of 11th and 16th.
Courtney Coe placed fifth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.32 while
Cassie Sanchez came in 15th.
Tori Fryar finished sixth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.48.
Ann Kharlamova finished 14th.
Emma Doll was the fastest Trojan in the 50-yard freestyle as she took sixth with a time of 24.83. Goff and
Kara Knapschaefer finished 12th and 13th, respectively.
Imre van Huyssteen took a time of 1:09.36 as she earned a sixth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. van Huyssteen's time in the event is the fastest this season as she beat out the previous time set of 1:09.39 set by teammate
Nuria Gallego Murcia who finished eighth.
Jinson Kang had the top time for Little Rock in the 400-yard individual medley as she finished seventh with a season-best time of 4:38.56.
Kayla Grimm and
Steph Lauer took 11th and 15th, respectively.
Samantha Gray placed seventh in both the one- and three-meter diving events. Gray scored 207.55 in the three-meter event before scoring 212.55 later on in the one-meter dive.
Fryar finished seventh in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.59 while
Chelsea Ebert, Kharlamova and Knapschaefer placed behind her in 13th, 14th and 16th, respectively.
Anela Everett was Little Rock's lone entrant in the 1,000-yard freestyle as she took ninth with a time of 12:02.82.
The first event of the afternoon saw the group of Ruiz Astorga, Gallego Murcia, Coe and Doll take fifth place in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:50.78
The team of Coe, Ruiz Astorga, Fryar and Doll concluded the meet as they placed fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.61. The squad of van Huyssteen, Ebert, Kharlamova and Undwood took seventh while Knapschaefer, Sanchez, Gallego Murcia and Goff finished 11th.
Little Rock returns to the pool against Missouri Valley Conference-foe Evansville on Nov. 7 at 11 a.m., in Evansville, Ind.
