LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock swimming and diving hosts its first home meet of the season as it goes up against Saint Louis and Henderson State at the Donaghey Aquatic Center on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Last year against Saint Louis,
Tori Fryar won her first collegiate events in the 200- and 500-yard freestyles with times of 1:56.45 and 5:09.00, respectively.
Emma Doll took the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.32 and beat out the competition by .03 of a second.
"This will be the first time Saint Louis has traveled to Little Rock, and we are expecting an exciting meet," head coach
Amy Burgess said. "Both Saint Louis & Henderson State are a good match, and we will see some good swims for our first home competition."
The Trojans placed fourth last weekend at the North Texas Relays. Little Rock's best finish came in the 400-yard freestyle relay as the team of Fryar, Doll,
Laura Ruiz Astorga and
Courtney Coe took third place with a time of 3:35.78.
"Last weekend was a different format with all relays," Burgess said. "This weekend, we are looking forward to seeing what the team can do with some individual competition. There were a lot of ups and downs last weekend, and the whole team will have to step up to get a couple of wins this weekend."
