Little Rock Drops In-State Rivalry Game at UCA

CONWAY – The Little Rock soccer team struck the crossbar three times in the second half but were unable to score in a 1-0 loss at Central Arkansas on Sunday night.

Jordan Slim scored the game's only goal in the 39th minute, earning a breakaway after the ball was headed backward by a Trojan defender. She slotted the ball under Sara Small, putting the home team on top late in the first half.

In the second half, Little Rock (0-2) managed to increase its offensive chances but only found the crossbar. Sophomore midfielder Caitlyn Eddy managed to strike the bar twice on free kicks, and sophomore Jaclyn Purvine rattled the bar in the 82nd minute.

Harrison Hayworth – who had her first career start – led the Trojans with six shots. Eddy finished with five. Trojan keeper Sara Small made three saves in the loss.

Little Rock remains on the road for its next game, as the team takes on Missouri State on Friday at 6 p.m. in Springfield.
