SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Trojan soccer team began Sun Belt play with a 1-0 overtime defeat at Texas State on Friday night.
Lauren Prater scored the game-winning goal in the 95th minute, taking a shot from 15 yards that arc over Trojan goalkeeper
Sara Small's hands.
The Trojans had the better of the play throughout the night, outshooting the Bobcats 18-9 overall and taking seven shots on goal to Texas State's three. Little Rock also had a distinct advantage in corner kicks, earning eight corners while the opposition had just one.
Fali Garuba had five total shots for Little Rock, and a
Quin Wilkes shot with 10 seconds left in regulation was saved by Bobcats goalie Heather Martin to force the extra period.

Sara Small played all 95 minutes for the Trojans. Small made two saves in the loss.
The Trojans have another chance to earn their first win of conference play when they take on Louisiana in Lafayette on Sunday at 1 p.m.
