LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock swimming and diving competes at home in the Donaghey Aquatic Center for the first time this season where the Trojans will take on North Texas with meets starting at 11 p.m. Saturday morning.
Â
The Trojans are coming off a fifth place finish with 208 points a couple weeks back in the North Texas Relays. This week's opponent, North Texas, will be a familiar foe after hosting the previous relay and finishing second in the standings with 368 points. But, Little Rock head coach
Amy Burgess is optimistic about their chances in the upcoming dual.
Â
"We are excited to welcome North Texas to Little Rock this weekend. The team always puts on a good show at home and we are excited to see what can happen Saturday," Burgess said. "There is a great energy when you get the chance to swim at home in front of family and friends. This week we have already seen that energy in practice and we can't wait to see how it comes out in competition."
Â
Burgess also explains the determination the Little Rock seniors will have to lead them past the Mean Green and throughout the season.
Â
"This year's Senior class has some pivotal members to our program and they are excited to lead the team and leave their legacy. We look forward to see what everyone can do at home, against some good competition in North Texas."

Senior swimmer
Tori Fryar is coming off an All-Missouri Valley Conference first team selection a year ago where she was the first in program history to earn the honors. In last week's meet Fryar,
Claire Bristow, and
Charis Won would claim the best relay finish for the Trojans with a fourth place finish. Swimmer,
Emma Doll, also enters her senior year with accolades, earning an All-Conference honorable mention in the previous two seasons
Senior diver
Samantha Gray has already found herself as Missouri Valley's Diver of the Week six times in the past two years and was an honorable mention in the All-Missouri Valley Conference last season. In a dual effort in the North Texas Relays, Gray and freshman
Sierra Thain finished second in the three-meter dive and third in the one-meter dive.
Â
After the dual versus North Texas, the Trojans will host the highly anticipated Little Rock Invitational next weekend, Oct. 21, starting at 10 a.m. in the Donaghey Aquatic Center.
