LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock heads to Jonesboro to face Arkansas State at the Convocation Center on Friday night. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and the game can be watched on ESPN3.
 
Both teams are coming off back-to-back losses at Texas State and UT Arlington.
 
Lis Shoshi blocked four shots at UT Arlington and now has nine blocks over the last two games. Deondre Burns totaled 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting at UTA and now has seven double-figure scoring efforts since being inserted into the starting lineup at Appalachian State on Jan. 7.
 
Arkansas State is 18-8 overall and 9-4 in Sun Belt play coming off consecutive losses at Texas State and UT Arlington. Those losses stopped a streak of seven straight wins for the Red Wolves.
 
Devin Carter (16.3 ppg), Deven Simms (13.3 ppg) and Rashad Lindsey (10.7) lead the Red Wolves on offense. Carter leads the Sun Belt Conference with 81 made 3-pointers and is ranked seventh in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (.395). As a team, Arkansas State is scoring 74.2 points per game and leads the Sun Belt in 3-point field goal percentage (.393).
 
In the season's first meeting between the teams, Arkansas State overcame a 12-point halftime deficit to top Little Rock 77-72 at the Jack Stephens Center. Carter scored 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting.
 
Arkansas State leads Little Rock 51-33 in the all-time series, including 23-9 in Jonesboro. A-State leads 29-28 since both programs joined the Sun Belt in 1991.
