Olsson Strikes Twice in Trojans' 3-0 Win Over UAPB

LITTLE ROCK – A pair of goals from junior Camilla Olsson paced the Little Rock offensive attack as the Trojans remained perfect at home with a 3-0 victory over Arkansas Pine Bluff Tuesday evening. The win evens the Trojans' record at 4-4 on the year while the Golden Lions fall to 0-5.

Olsson bookended the Little Rock victory, netting the game-winner in the 16th minute before punching in the exclamation point with 33 seconds remaining. Senior Quin Wilkes added an insurance tally in the 87th minute as Sairra Tucker logged a pair of assists on the night.

With a handful of younger players earning starts on the evening, Little Rock and UAPB were evenly matched through the opening 30 minutes as both teams had solid looks at the net. Olsson opened the scoring at the 15:08 mark, taking a feed from Tucker from the right side of the net and beating the UAPB goalkeeper in the bottom left corner to put Little Rock on top.

After 45 minutes, Little Rock held an 11-5 advantage in shots as both goalkeeper Kate Hamilton and UAPB's Alexus Jones recorded three saves in the stanza.

The second half, Little Rock turned up the intensity as the Trojans outshot the Golden Lions 16-0 over the final 45 minutes. The Trojans had numerous opportunities, but some point blank saves from Jones, who finished with 11 saves on the night, as well as shots just off the mark kept the score at 1-0.

In the final four minutes, however, Little Rock's offensive attack finally wore down the UAPB defense. Wilkes put the Trojans up 2-0 at the 86:49 mark, getting behind the Golden Lion goalkeeper and tapping in an empty netter off a feed from Tucker.

Olsson then capped her best game in a Trojan uniform, sending a shot from about 10 feet beyond the box into the upper right hand corner, just out of reach of Jones to seal the 3-0 win for Little Rock.
With the win, Little Rock improves to 9-1 all-time against UAPB, including notching its seventh-straight victory over the Golden Lions. Goalkeeper Kate Hamilton gets credit for the win, stopping three UAPB shots in her 45 minutes of action, while Kelly Hogan logged 45 minutes in the second half without facing a Golden Lion shot.

The Trojans continue their home-heavy stretch Sunday, opening up Sun Belt Conference play against Louisiana. Opening kick against the Ragin' Cajuns is set for 1 p.m. at the Coleman Sports Complex.
