LITTLE ROCK- Little Rock swimming and diving will compete in their third of three consecutive home meets on Saturday at the Donaghey Aquatic Center when they host Evansville at 11 a.m. This is the first Missouri Valley Conference meet of the season.
As it is the final home meet of the season, the seniors on the team will be honored prior to the meet for their hard work and dedication to the program.
"With our last home meet of the season we are honoring a very special group of seniors, and the team is ready to celebrate their swimming career in and out of the water," said Head Coach
Amy Burgess. "These seniors have left their mark on our program for years to come. Striving not only in the pool but class room as well."
The Trojans are coming off a third place finish in the Little Rock Invitational. Diver
Sierra Thain stood out by taking first in both the 1-meter dive and 3-meter dive.
Lea Zengerling also showed out with a first place finish in the 500-yard freestyle. Little Rock will look to improve as a team and pick up their first head-to-head win.
"The team is ready to see some conference competition. The team has been pushing hard and ready to take on Evansville," Burgess said.
Little Rock will take a three week break from competition before heading to Lawrence, Kan. to compete in the Kansas Classic.
