LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock volleyball's first loss in 20 days came at the hand of Georgia State Saturday night after a late rally fell short and the Trojans (14-9, 6-4) fell 3-2 to the Panthers (6-15, 3-8) in Georgia. Despite the result, junior
Carol Barbosa had another career-high performance, topping yesterday's outing with 20 kills.
Little Rock won the first set, wrestling the lead away when Georgia State was up 17-14 to go up 21-18 and would take the frame 25-22. The Panthers would take the second, the score being the same of the first, and would take set three by a score of 26-24.
The Trojans jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead in the fourth frame and would extend the advantage to 10-6, then 15-9 before trading points until taking the set 25-19, forcing the squads' eighth fifth set of the season.
The two teams would trade points the duration of the frame, tying the score nine times in the final set, but Georgia State would score four straight points to take it 15-13.

- Carol Barbosa tallied 20 kills, topping her career-high that she set last night. She's also hit .500 or better in back-to-back matches for the second time this season and for the fourth time in five matches.
- Taylor Lindberg registered 34 assists, tallying at least 30 helpers in eight matches this season. After totaling 69 assists this weekend, Lindberg is 37 assists away from becoming second on the all-time assist list.
- The Trojans' series with the Panthers is now 7-2 all-time, with this being the first loss to Georgia State since 2011.
