Monroe, La. – The Little Rock Trojans (18-11, 10-6) kept the streak alive against ULM (11-19, 3-13), earning the program's 33
rd straight win against the Warhawks in a 3-1 victory Saturday night.
Set one went the way of the Warhawks with Little Rock never able to gain traction. Little Rock would string together small runs, but Trojan errors, Little Rock committed nine in the first frame, would damper any permanent momentum. The Trojans would tally three service aces in the set, but fall 25-20.
In the second frame the Trojans shook off whatever held them back during the opening set and jumped out to an early lead, never relinquishing control. The Trojans went on a lengthy run, dominating to a 25-13 win.
Little Rock's success continued in the third set with the Trojans tying the game at three and accelerating to a 25-10 final. Little Rock was awarded 22 of the matches final 29 points, with
Taylor Lindberg recording three straight service aces that generated a 5-0 run for Little Rock's Team.
Pamela Zuluaga also added her own pair of aces.
ULM would not go down without a fight in the final set, pushing the Trojans to within two, but Little Rock would power through the final points and take the frame 25-23.
Inside the Stats
- Little Rock recorded double-digit services aces, 13 total, for the first time this season and for the first time since the 2015-2016 season, also against ULM. Pamela Zuluaga was responsible for five aces herself.
- Lindberg dished out a game-high 26 assists, eight of them coming in the fourth set.
- Every Little Rock player registered a dig in the victory, Diana Giordani coming up with a team-high 16.
