LITTLE ROCK- Little Rock swimming and diving will compete in their final meet of fall competition when they travel to Topeka, Kan. to take part in the Kansas Classic beginning on Friday inside the Capitol Federal Natatorium.
"The Kansas Classic marks our finals in the water for the Fall Semester," said Head Coach
Amy Burgess. "We look forward to heading north and going against some good competition from the Big 12, Conference USA, Summit League, and the MVC."
The Trojans will be competing in the Kansas Classic for the third time in program history and this will be the last competition for the team until January.
Little Rock finished fifth in the Kansas Classic last year and just edged out Omaha on the final relay to clinch their position. The Trojans finished second in their first meet of the season at the North Texas Relays before falling to the Mean Green the following weekend. The maroon and silver then picked up a third-place finish in the Little Rock Invitational, then Evansville got the better of the Trojans in their next meet.
"Stepping up big time in workouts over the past several weeks, the team is primed for some exciting things in Lawrence," said Burgess. "This team has grown extremely close this semester, and we have some very strong upperclassman leadership. I am particularity looking forward to seeing what the seniors can do."
