TOPEKA, KAN- Little Rock finished sixth with 237 points in the Kansas Classic this past weekend in Topeka, Kansas. Kansas claimed first place with 1279.5 points while Iowa State took second with 642.5 points. North Texas came in third place as they tallied 575 points, Northern Iowa finished fourth 478 points and Omaha just edge out the Trojans for fifth place with 253 points.

Regan Lawrence and
Lindsey Butler had a strong showing in the 200-yard free relay on Friday, posting a time of 1:35.05 for sixth place.

Carolyn Godwin won the D-Final of the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:10.09 as she was one of the standouts for Little Rock.

On day two of the event,
Lea Zengerling continued her strong freshman campaign with a third-place finish in the B-Final of the 500-yard freestyle, coming in with a time of 5:05.18.

In the 50-yard freestyle, Butler won the C-Final with a time of 23.73 as the senior would put together an impressive meet for herself. In the D-Final of the event, van Huyssteen would tie for first place with a time of 24.46 in a tightly contested race.

Zengerling had another strong swim in the 400-yard IM, placing third in the B-Final with her time of 4:32.50.

The C-Final of the 200-yard freestyle saw
Claire Bristow post a solid time of 1:55.48 to come in second place in the race. Vasaliki Falania finished third in the D-Final of the event with a time of 1:59.88.

Butler would go on to finish second in the C-Final of the 100-yard freestyle and Bristow won the D-Final of the event.

In the 200-yard backstroke, Godwin continued her strong swimming with a time of 2:28.79 to finish second in the C-Final.

With the fall schedule now behind them, the Trojans will look forward to the new year when they return to the pool on January 19 for a matchup with Southern Illinois in Carbondale, Ill.
