CONWAY, S.C. - Little Rock baseball was shutout by Coastal Carolina in a four-hit, 1-0 loss on Sunday afternoon at Springs Brooks Stadium.
Â
Chase Coker tallied three of the four hits for the Trojans (26-23, 14-12 SBC) as he went 3-for-4 on the day while
Matt Merino had the only other hit.

Stater
Aaron Funk delivered six scoreless innings for the Trojans as he struck out six batters while giving up five hits and two walks, but the bats of the Trojans could not back him up.
Â
Donavin Buck took over for Funk in the seventh with a runner on first, but
Kale Emshoff was able to throw down to second to catch pinch runner Cameron Pearcey trying to steal.
Â
Parker Chavers and Matt Beaird followed it up with singles to put a runner in scoring position for the Chanticleers (36-16, 21-6 SBC). Cory Wood came up with two outs for Coastal and hit a line shot towards
James Gann at first who made a diving play to knock the ball down. Gann's attempt to get Wood out at first was late, and Chavers made a heads up play to try and take home. Gann fired it home to Emshoff, but the tag just missed Chavers to put the first run on the board.
Â
Nick Perez got on base for the Trojans in the ninth inning with a one-out walk before
Eldrige Figueroa came in to pinch run.
Troy Alexander then pinch hit for
Danny Mitchell Jr. and drew a walk to put two runners on for
Riley Pittman who was pinch-hitting for
Christian Reyes. Pittman struck out swinging for the second out before
Marcus Ragan field out to right field to end the game.
Â
