LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock Director of Athletics
George Lee has announced the promotion of
Darius Maize to Deputy Athletic Director for Internal Operations & Special Projects for the Trojan Athletic Department. Maize's promotion will take effect November 1, 2019.
"I want to thank Darius for all his hard work over the past two years," Lee said. "He has been intricately involved in all our internal operations and it is a testimony to his work ethic to be moving into this new role. It is a well-deserved promotion."
Maize has been with the department since July of 2017, serving as an internal operations assistant while pursuing his master's degree in sport administration from Arkansas State. He was promoted to the Director of Internal Operations in July of 2018.
In his role, Maize will serve on the senior administration team and have oversight of all facilities, game day operations and the day-to-day administration of the department. He also handles the responsibility for collaborating with the campus community while handling special projects for the department.
Maize is a Little Rock native and is a graduate of Hall High School. He graduated from Baylor in 2015 with a degree in athletic training before attaining his master's degree from Arkansas State in 2018.
