COLUMBIA, Mo.- Another record was written in the Little Rock swimming and diving record books on the final day of the Missouri Valley Conference Championships. The relay team of
Claire Bristow,
Imre van Huyssteen,
Laura Ruiz Astorga and
Lindsey Butler posted a school record time of 3:25.24 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

After four days of competition, the Trojans finished in sixth place, registering 273.5 points. Little Rock just edged out Evansville, who finished with 269 points in seventh place. Missouri State took home the team title, winning by a wide margin and totaling 759 points.

In the 200-yard backstroke, Ruiz Astorga continued her solid day in the pool with a second-place finish in the B-Final to earn seven points for her team in what would be her final meet as a Trojan.

Butler capped off her incredible weekend by earning the third-best time in the 100-yard freestyle, grabbing 16 points for the maroon and silver. This was the best individual performance of the meet for the Trojans.

More seniors went on to end their career on a high note as van Huyssteen finished fifth overall in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:18.00.
Ann Kharlamova posted a solid time of 53.70 in 100-yard freestyle.

Carolyn Godwin finished with the top time in the C-Final of the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing her season strongly.

Seniors
Vasiliki Falaina, Ruiz Astorga, van Huyssteen, Bristow, Butler, and Kharlamova were honored after the meet for their hard work and commitment to the Little Rock swimming and diving program.

The Trojans' 2018-19 campaign concludes with four school records falling on the final week of the season and the team will look to improve their times and break more records in the 2019-2020 season.
