LITTLE ROCK- The Trojans will return to Gary Hogan as they begin their Sun Belt Conference schedule with a three-game series against Louisiana starting March 15 at 6 p.m.
Â
Little Rock is currently 5-12 after a midweek victory over Central Arkansas. In their final nonconference tune-up, the Trojans used some fine pitching from
Hayden Arnold and timely hitting to snatch a 5-1 victory on the road. Arnold tossed seven innings of scoreless baseball and
Ryan Benavidez continued his hot hitting with another two-hit day.
Â
Arnold's Early Success
Arnold's solid outing on Tuesday capped off a solid nonconference run for the sophomore. The right-hander has posted a 2.65 ERA, which is second-best on the team. Arnold has thrown 17.0 innings whilst only allowing five earned runs and has held his opponents to a .213 batting average over his eight appearances.

Scouting Louisiana
The Ragin' Cajuns come into Tuesday's contest with a 7-10 record in their first 17 games. Louisiana has lost three of their last four games and are coming off a series defeat to Loyola Marymount before falling to New Orleans and then beating Southern Mississippi in extra innings. The Ragin' Cajuns have struggled at the plate thus far, only posting a .238 team batting average. Brennan Breaux and Hunter Kasuls are the only Ragin' Cajuns above the .300 mark. Their pitching staff has been fairly solid to this point, registering a respectable 4.11 team ERA. Gunner Leger has been fantastic on the mound, as he has not allowed an earned run in his 14.2 innings of work.
