LITTLE ROCK - Little Rock's strength and conditioning program attained a valuable asset as Director of Athletic Performance
John Barron has promoted
John Lepo to the role of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Lepo becomes the program's first full-time assistant coach and will oversee the day-to-day efforts for the Trojan baseball and track and field teams.
Lepo has been at Little Rock for the last two years, serving as a graduate assistant under Barron. In his previous role, he has worked with the Little Rock baseball, volleyball, track and field and wrestling programs.
Lepo joined Little Rock after spending a year at Webber International in Babson Park, Florida, serving as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. While at Webber, Lepo was in charge of all aspects of strength and conditioning for the Warrior track and field, cross country and softball programs while assisting with football, men's basketball, men's soccer, baseball and men's and women's tennis.
Prior to his time at Webber, Lepo was an Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Impact Sports Performance in Buffalo, New York where he assisted with the strength and conditioning for the Buffalo Junior Sabres Academy of Hockey of teams, as well as the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League. Lepo also served as a strength and conditioning coach for variety of local high school hockey, football, lacrosse, and soccer teams. Additionally, he was on the team that tested incoming NHL athletes at the 2015 and 2016 NHL Combines.
The Buffalo, New York native attained his master's degree in sports administration and management from Little Rock in 2019 after earning his bachelor's degree in exercise science from the University of Buffalo in 2013. Lepo is Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, as well as a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Lepo was selected following an extensive three month search which included hundreds of candidates from around the world and several rounds of interviews. He will officially assume his new position on July 1.
