Astros Luckas opened the night with her first goal of the season in the 24th minute. The sophomore crossed the ball over the keeper and into the top left corner of the net after a pass from freshman Allison Morrison.

The next two goals came in the second half. Julia Edholm earned her third goal of the season at the 62nd minute mark with a header over the tips of the goaltender's fingertips, made possible by a well-placed kick by none other than Morgan Smocovich, the Trojans' leader in assists. Jessica Carmichael made the third and final goal of the match in the 84th minute, as well as the first in her collegiate career. Classmate Sarah Ovalle was awarded the assist.

"I'm delighted with a clean sheet and delighted with a win," head coach Mark Foster said following the victory. "The girls have been working hard and playing well. I never like to say bad luck because I think you make your own luck, and once you start talking about luck you are making excuses, but we really should've had a few more wins this year. I was delighted for the girls to get the win that their hard work has deserved of late."

With one more match to go before conference play begins, the team welcomed a chance to test out their offensive skills, as well as feature a few new faces on the field. The Trojans made 29 shots, and 11 freshmen saw playing time.

"I do think our speed of play needs to be better," added Foster. "Our composure in the final third – we created so many chances tonight and a lot of freshmen that those chances fell to, you could see they were nervous. They want to be able to relax and take their chances, but that will come. That is a confidence thing and I'm sure that will come the more chances they get on the field."

The Trojans will celebrate Senior Day at home on Saturday, welcoming Southeastern Louisiana to their home at Coleman Sports Complex. Seniors Samantha Rolka, Doro Greulich, and Maeve Burger will be honored prior to the 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
