"It was a tough tournament, but we knew that going in," said head coach Neil Erisman. "We showed fight and hustle and improved from our dual against North Carolina. I'm not okay with how the weekend went, but our guys did everything they could to win. I'm proud of their effort."

Tyler Brennan compiled a record of 4-2 throughout the two-day tournament. The true freshman made it to consolation round of 8 at 149 pounds, capturing two pins in the process. The other two victories were decisions in which Brennan did not allow his opponent a single point.

"Tyler got a big boost this weekend," noted Erisman. "He got better with every match and lost in the placing round at one of the nation's toughest tournaments. I'm very excited to see him continue to grow and we're all very proud of him."
