COLUMBIA, Mo. – With one day left at the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championships, the Little Rock swimming and diving team not only saw the 100 breaststroke record get smashed by
Annya Grom, but also saw the freshman step onto the podium as the first Trojan to do so throughout the weekend thus far.

100 Butterfly
Sophomore
Carolyn Godwin and freshman
Fer Moussier represented the Trojans in the B final, finishing third and fourth in the heat, respectively. Godwin's 56.18 was a new lifetime best as she moves into third on the Trojan top time list. Moussier stopped the clock at 56.36, four hundredths off her morning best time, making her the fourth-fastest in program history.
In the C final,
Brianna Ridings raced at night for the first time in her collegiate career, posting a new personal best time of 58.45.
400 IM
All four Trojans in the long individual medley earned a trip to finals.
Ashleigh Green and
Amanda Dreyer both scored in the B final, with the freshman recording a personal best time to place 13th overall, dropping over seven seconds from her seed. Dreyer rounded out the heat as the senior said goodbye to her primary event.
Freshman
Emma Bleasdell put up a new best time of 4:41.98 to win the C final, while senior
Rachel Maradyn also had a farewell race of her own, dropping three seconds from prelims to move up to third with a time of 4:46.67.
200 Freestyle
Freshman
Asmalia Redzuan sped into the wall admist Trojan cheers in the B final for major team points, clocking in at 1:52.37 for the fourth-fastest time in school history.
Lea Zengerling also got a double swim after notching a season-best 1:54.86 in the morning, touching the wall fourth at night in the C final at 1:55.15.
100 Breaststroke
Little Rock achieved their first A finalist of the weekend in
Annya Grom after a school record-setting performance in prelims. The freshman's new mark of 1:03.74 is the first time under the 1:04 barrier, and Grom stepped onto the podium in eighth overall at night.
Junior
Palmer Ristroph came into the wall at night at 1:04.20, just a hundredth of a second off of her personal best to place second in the B final. In the nonscoring C final, freshman
Taylor Baldacci made her first finals appearance with a season-best 1:06.84.
100 Backstroke
Every single Trojan in the finals of the 100 back notched lifetime bests this evening. They were led by
Regan Lawrence's 57.34, now the fourth-fastest time in program history. The junior took 15th overall, moving up at night in the B final.
In the C final, senior
Jessie Baldwin took third in the heat with a time of 58.54, while freshman
Fernanda Gamez went under 59 seconds for the first time to touch at 58.74.
3 Meter Diving
In prelims,
Sierra Thain earned a score of 225.15 to qualify for the evening B finals, less than two points away from the top eight. The junior diver improved her score by over four points to win the flight with 229.70 points, a clutch performance for the team as a whole. Meanwhile, Jones wrapped up her MVC Championships debut in 24th place with 178.05 points.
400 Medley Relay
In a heartbreaking finish for the evening, the A relay was disqualified due a false start following an earlier mishap with the starting block.

The last day of the 2020 MVC Championships is tomorrow, and Little Rock has a plethora of long races on tap: the 1650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, and 200 butterfly.
