Gabe Beyer Finishes 2-0 in Duals at Oklahoma State Quad

Joseph Bianchi Also Notches Perfect Afternoon

STILLWATER, Okla.  – The Trojans picked up six individual wins in back-to-back duals against Oregon State and Chattanooga, led by Gabe Beyer's perfect 2-0 this afternoon. Little Rock was unable to top Pac-12 foes Oregon State, falling 33-9 in the first dual of the day. However, the Trojans were much closer against Chattanooga, dropping the match 23-16 in the smallest margin between Little Rock and a fellow Division I opponent yet.

"Today was a good day, it was a tough day, and it was a day that we got better, all in one," said head coach Neil Erisman. "We're learning to put seven minutes together in a match and we keep piecing it and piecing it and we've just gotta learn to put it all together. Even though we didn't come out with a team victory, I feel good about where we're at and the direction we're going. Excited to get back on the mat next weekend at home."

Beyer pinned his opponent from Oregon State in the first dual of the day in just 1:40, turning a takedown into a quick fall for the Trojans. Later in the afternoon, the redshirt freshman concluded the day with a 4-1 decision against Chattanooga, collecting a takedown and escape in the third period as well as adding a point for riding time. Beyer moves to 3-1 this year.

Triston Wills, Paul Bianchi, Conner Ward and Joseph Bianchi each contributed team points in duals for the Trojans this afternoon.

Wills claimed his third-straight match win in the first dual this afternoon, securing a decision for Little Rock against Oregon State thanks to an impressive four-point near fall in the second period. This puts Wills at 3-1 on the season.

The younger Bianchi had his first career start in the Chattanooga match, dominating in an 11-0 major decision that included a four-point near fall in the second period along with a pair of takedowns. The elder Bianchi also picked up a win over the Mocs, getting in front early and holding on for a 9-5 decision. Both brothers had riding time in their victories. Meanwhile, in between the two, Conner Ward won by forfeit at 141 pounds.

In extra matches, Aidan Campbell, Josiah Hill, and Joey Bianchi each earned wins by decision. Along with his dual win, Bianchi finished the day 2-0, while Campbell and Hill split 1-1.

Next weekend, Little Rock will host both Oklahoma State and SIUE at the Jack Stephens Center for the first of two Trojan home events. The tri meet is set to begin at 12:55 p.m. and feature one mat. Oklahoma State and SIUE will kick off the day and Little Rock will wrestle the second and third duals.
