LITTLE ROCK – Senior forward
Nikola Maric has been tabbed a third team preseason All-Sun Belt selection, voted on by the league's head coaches.
Maric heads into his senior season at Little Rock as the Trojans leading returner in nearly every statistical category. Among the 2021-22 Trojan roster, Maric lead the team last season in scoring (14.0 ppg), field goal percentage (54.5%), rebounding (5.6 rpg), assists (1.7 apg), blocks (0.9 bpg) and minutes (31.2 mpg).
The 6-10, 250-pound forward from Trebinje, Bosnia-Herzegovina enters the 2021-22 season having played in 72 games during his Little Rock career with 56 starts and a career average of 11.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. Maric has scored in double figures in 47 of his 72 games and enters the season with 823 career points, 177 shy of becoming the 21st player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark.
Little Rock's 2021-22 season begins in less than three weeks when the Trojans host Southern Illinois at the Jack Stephens Center on November 9 in the season opener. Season tickets for the 2021-22 basketball season are currently on sale as Little Rock will go back to full capacity at the Jack Stephens Center this season.
