NEW ORLEANS – Little Rock sophomore
Spencer Cardinal was honored by the Sun Belt Conference Friday as he was named to the league's all-conference third team following his performance at the Sun Belt Championships in Mobile.
Cardinal finished 11
th at the Sun Belt Championships with an 8K time of 25:03.7, marking the best finish by a Trojan men's runner since 2017. With his finish, Cardinal earns his first cross country all-conference honor as he claimed third team accolades.
The Woodlands, Texas native led Little Rock to its best scoring finish since 2014 in Friday's championship race as the Trojans finished sixth, scoring 142 points.
Next up for Cardinal and the Trojans is the NCAA South Central Regional Championships, set for Nov. 12 in Waco, Texas.
