MOBILE, Ala. – Little Rock sophomore
Spencer Cardinal posted a top-15 finish and led the Trojans to its best scoring finish since 2014 as the Trojans competed at the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Championships Friday morning in Mobile.
Cardinal ran 25:03.7 and placed 11
th overall, marking the best individual finish by a Little Rock men's runner since 2017, as he led the Trojans at the championship meet. As a team, the Trojan men placed sixth by scoring 142 points while the women finished 10
th, scoring 237 points.
Aaron Soltmann finished 26
th with a time of 26:08.1 while
Andrew Payton ran 26:33.7 to place 31
st.
On the women's side,
Bailey Cronin led the Trojans by running the 5K race in 19:15.2 to finish 35
th while
Ariana Garcia ran 19:23.2 to place 41
st.
Next up for the Trojans is the NCAA South Central Regional Championships, set for Nov. 12 in Waco, Texas.
