Medlin, Jansen Reach Double Figures in Sweep of UAPB

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Nicole Medlin and Laura Jansen both reached double figures in kills as Little Rock rolled to a straight-set 3-0 win over UAPB at the Arkansas Classic in Fayetteville Saturday morning.
 
The Trojans (2-0) once again had every offensive player register multiple kills, led by the efforts of Medlin (11 kills) and Laura Jansen (10 kills). Medlin led all players with a .450 hitting percentage while Laure Jansen served up three aces in the match. Set scores were 25-13, 25-16 and 25-13.
 
Leigh Maher recorded 12 digs while Livia Kimura added 11 digs and Zanobia Willis tallied four blocks and five kills. Amna Osmankovic made her return to the court after a knee injury suffered in 2019 sidelined her for the better part of two years, serving three times in the final set.
 
UAPB (0-2) was led by Zykia Jones' eight kills.
 
Little Rock will play the host Razorbacks Saturday at 7 p.m. on SECN+ on the Watch ESPN app. Arkansas entered the season receiving votes in the preseason Top 25 poll.

• This marked the second match in as many played this season where a true freshman for Little Rock has served up three aces. Laure Jansen did it today while Ailene Uetz did it in the season opener.
• This marked the first match played for Amna Osmankovic since Sept. 14, 2019.
• Nicole Medlin was just two kills shy of matching her career-high mark.
