COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Little Rock sophomore
Spencer Cardinal ran the third-fastest 8K time in school history Saturday, leading Little Rock's Team at the Texas A&M Invitational.
Cardinal's time of 24:21.2 is the third-fastest in school history, behind only times from Isaac Lalang (25.58.4 in 2015) and Dustin Mettler (24:18.65 in 2011). Beating his old PR time by over 90 seconds, he finished 14
th overall.
Every single Little Rock men's cross country runner posted a new personal best time while
Lindsey Hutcheson posted her first team top finish since transferring to Little Rock.
Overall the Trojan men finished fifth while the women placed seventh.
Andrew Payton closely followed Cardinal, running 24:37.4 – another personal best time by nearly 90 seconds – as the sophomore placed 23
rd overall.
On the women's side,
Lindsey Hutcheson led Little Rock for the first time since transferring from Southeastern Louisiana and posted a career-best time by 10 seconds, running 19:14.0 to finish 28
th overall.
Panagiota Lazarou ran 19:28.5 to finish 35
th.
Saturday's race marked the last regular season race before the Trojans return home to host the Little Rock Open on Oct. 16.
