Little Rock Rallies for 3-2 Win at App State

Trojans battle back from 2-0 deficit

BOONE, N.C. – Laura Jansen posted 22 kills, Laure Jansen added another 17, both registered double-doubles and Little Rock rallied back from a 2-0 deficit to claim a thrilling 3-2 win at App State Sunday afternoon.
 
The Trojans (10-4, 1-1 Sun Belt) hit .562 in the final set and used a 6-0 run in that frame to clinch the win. Laura Jansen, who finished the game with 12 digs and tied a season-high four blocks, was responsible for three of the last four points Little Rock scored in the match.
 
Little Rock had nine players record a kill, including Aspen Steele who made her first career appearance and posted two kills in the match. Victoria Cavalcanti put down four kills and added five blocks. Overall, Little Rock tallied 12 blocks in the match. Nedima Kamberovic recorded eight kills, all of which came in the final three sets.
 
Laure Jansen added 19 digs and two blocks in her double-double effort. The Trojans won the match despite recording fewer kills and a lower hitting percentage than the Mountaineers.
 
App State (4-10, 0-2) was led by Lulu Ambrose's 20 kills as she was one of four Mountaineers to reach double figures.
 
Little Rock now returns home for a three-match homestand starting with the team's home opener against Troy on Friday, Oct. 1. First serve is set for 6 p.m. and Little Rock will be celebrating National Homemade Cookie Day by giving out cookies to the first 100 fans.
