FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Spencer Cardinal ran a season best time and
Matilda Horton led the Trojan women for the third meet in a row as Little Rock finished 21
st on both sides at the Chile Pepper Festival on Friday afternoon in Fayetteville.

Cardinal clocked a time of 24:44.2 as he led the Little Rock men for the first time this season. His time is a season-best mark by nearly 30 seconds as he finished 43
rd in the 356-runner field.
Zach McPhee followed for the Trojan men, running 25:09.9 to place 84
th.

The duo, both of whom are juniors, led the Trojan men to a 21
st place finish in the 34-team field as Little Rock beat Houston and former Sun Belt Conference rivals Louisiana and ULM. The Little Rock women also finished 21
st, beating Louisiana, UT Arlington and ULM in the 32-team field.

Matilda Horton led the Trojan women for the third consecutive race, running the 5K distance in 17:50.4 to place 59
th in the 276-runner field.
Kyla Lochtefeld finished 110
th overall and second among the Trojans with a time of 18:28.7.

Friday's race concludes a busy September for Little Rock's Team as the Trojans ran in their fourth meet of the month. The team will get a slight break before returning to the course on Oct. 15 to compete at the Weis-Crockett Invitational in a preview of the NCAA Championship course in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
