Trojans Finish Fourth at Tiger Style Invitational

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Little Rock wrestlers registered 21 total victories, including four falls and a pair of major decisions, as the Trojans finished fourth as a team at the Tiger Style Invitational at Staley High School. Little Rock tallied 93.5 total points as a team with four wrestlers finishing in the top-five of their respective weight classes, beating a Big 10 team in the process.

The day was highlighted by a second-place finish by Brennan Van Hoecke at 141, including a15-6 major decision in the semifinals before dropping a hard-fought 3-1 decision in the championship bout.
 
Jayden Carson finished fourth at 125, registering a pair of decisions while Reid Nelson and Chase Tebbets both finished 2-2 on the day, finishing fifth at 125 and 149, respectively. Brendon Abdon had the most wins on the day for Little Rock, going 3-2 to finish seventh at 157, highlighted by a pair of falls in his second match (2:29) and his seventh-place bout (1:31).
 
Chance Davis (165) registered a fall at 1:56 in his second bout of the day with Cael Keck adding a major decision in his opening match at 133, rounding out the extra point matches on the day for the Trojans.
 
Missouri won its home invitational with 187.5 points, followed by Cal Poly in second (129.5) and Illinois (127.5) in third, just ahead of Little Rock's 93.5 total points. Maryland (92.0) and Drexel (70.0) rounded out the top-six at the invitational event.
 
Little Rock returns to action next weekend, traveling to Norman, Oklahoma for a dual against Oklahoma on Friday, November 18, before competing in the Lindenwood Open in St. Charles, Missouri, on Saturday, November 19.
