Trojans Head to North Texas for First Away Dual of the Season

Little Rock will take on familiar rivals in first away dual, last matchup before mid-season meet

LITTLE ROCK - The Little Rock swimming and diving team heads to North Texas tomorrow in their first one-on-one away dual of the season as well as their last unrested opportunity for competition before their big mid-season invitational of the year at Kansas in a few weeks. The diving events will kick off at 10 a.m. in Denton, while swimming will start at 11. Live results can be found on the MeetMobile app and a schedule of events can be viewed below.

"We are looking forward to racing again on the road, especially against North Texas," said Little Rock head coach Amy Burgess in anticipation of the sixth-straight matchup between North Texas and Little Rock. "There were a lot of great takeaways in Carbondale and this team is looking to step it up big time Friday. It's going to be our last chance to fine-tune before the Kansas Classic, so this will be a great meet to watch!"

While the Trojans have never taken down North Texas over their nine meetings, Little Rock came within 30 points last season at home. This may be the year to top them, as Little Rock's depth is stronger than ever, from the sprints to the distance free races. The team is just coming off a two-week training period after finishing third in the strong south site of the MVC Showcase.

Now that all teams in the Missouri Valley Conference have competed, the Trojans have a handful of top-16 swimmers across several events. Annya Grom still claims the top time in the 100 free as well as rank two in the 50 free, along with spot 13 in the 100 back. Sophomores Caitlin Romprey and Jaelle Carlson each make the list two times, with the former sitting at fifth in the 200 back and eighth in the 100 back while the latter holds spot 12 in the 100 free and the 11th place in the 100 fly. Seniors Lauren Gray and Fer Moussier round out the group with Gray's number 15 100 back time and Moussier's 16th rank in the 200 fly.
