Little Rock Unveils New Court Design for Jack Stephens Center

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Director of Athletics George Lee unveiled the new court design at the Jack Stephens Center, yet another of the arena's improvements for the Trojans as Little Rock enters the Ohio Valley Conference at the end of the week.

The new design starts with a classic look with modern updates. It is similar to the previous design but features a larger Trojan logo at mid-court along with the addition of the Little Rock wordmark below it. The design also includes an updated font package and arranges all text and graphics to face the TV cameras.

As part of the updated design, the court will also highlight Little Rock's new conference affiliation with OVC logos in both basketball lanes. Additionally, the word mark along the baselines is set to a specific length so that letters will not be cut off as TV cameras pan from the near and far sides, maximizing exposure for the brand of Little Rock's Team.

"We have a lot of improvements taking place at the Jack Stephens Center this summer, but none may be more visible than the update to our court design," Lee said. "Our fans will notice larger logos and graphics, a classic but attractive design and brighter colors on the floor when volleyball home matches take place this fall and when the basketball season begins in November."

In addition to larger logos and text, the graphics and fonts are designed so that volleyball lines, when placed on the court in the fall season, will not intersect or divide any marks.

Instead of just updating the current design, the entire floor will be sanded down and fresh paint applied to the entire court. The project will also allow Little Rock to fix or replace any floorboards in need of replacement.

This project is expected to begin in late July/early August and should take less than two weeks to complete.

The new paint and court design comes alongside a new videoboard for the facility that will benefit the gameday experience for men's and women's basketball, volleyball and wrestling as well as updated locker rooms for the men's and women's basketball programs.

On Thursday night, Little Rock will wrap up a 31-year tenure in the Sun Belt Conference and officially joins the more regionally aligned and basketball-focused Ohio Valley Conference on July 1, 2022.
