BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The wait is finally over for Little Rock Basketball fans as the Ohio Valley Conference unveiled its 2022-23 basketball conference schedules Thursday afternoon. This will be the initial OVC slate for the Trojans after Little Rock officially joined the league on July 1.

The move to the OVC brings back doubleheaders to Little Rock's Basketball schedules, something many fans in the Capital City have long desired.

This year, which is the 75th year of competition in the OVC, marks the first in the League for Lindenwood, Little Rock and Southern Indiana who became official members on July 1. They join Eastern Illinois, Morehead State, Southeast Missouri, SIUE, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and UT Martin to make up the 10-team league.

Each school will play an 18-game double round-robin schedule which will begin on Thursday, December 29 and conclude on Saturday, February 25.

The 2023 OVC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament is slated for March 1-4 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. It marks the sixth year in a row the event will be held at the venue.

For the Maroon and Silver, Little Rock will make its OVC debut on Thursday, Dec. 29 as the Trojans host UT Martin before heading to Nashville for a Saturday, Dec. 31 doubleheader at Tennessee State.

Little Rock returns home on Thursday, Jan. 5 to host fellow OVC newcomer Lindenwood and then will host Southeast Missouri at The Jack on Saturday, Jan. 7. The following weekend, both Trojan teams will hit the road with games at fellow OVC newcomer Southern Indiana (Jan. 12) and Eastern Illinois (Jan. 14).

The Trojans are back at home as Tennessee Tech visits the Capital City on Thursday, Jan. 19 with Little Rock playing host to Tennessee State on Saturday, Jan. 21.

Little Rock then hits the road for three straight games, playing at Morehead State on Thursday, Jan. 26, at Tennessee Tech on Saturday, Jan. 28 then wrapping up the road swing at Southeast Missouri on Thursday, Feb. 2.

That brings about a pair of home games as the Maroon and Silver welcome SIUE to University Avenue on Saturday, Feb. 4 before the Trojans host Morehead State on Thursday, Feb. 9. Little Rock then heads to Martin, Tennessee to face UT Martin on Saturday, Feb. 11.

The final home games of the season take place when Little Rock hosts Southern Indiana on Thursday, Feb. 16 and then Eastern Illinois on Saturday, Feb. 18. The Trojans wrap up the regular season on the road with games at SIUE on Thursday, Feb. 23 and at Lindenwood on Saturday, Feb. 25.

Most home game times will have a 5 p.m. tip-off for the women and 7:30 p.m. start for the men on Thursdays while Saturday games will have a 1 p.m. tip-off for the women and a 3:30 p.m. tip-off for the men. All dates and times are subject to change.

The OVC Schedule marks a balanced schedule in a regionally aligned conference, something Trojan fans will be excited to see once the season gets underway. This will mark the first time in four years the Little Rock women will play as many as four home conference games in the month of February.

That Trojan women's team joins the OVC after having advanced to the semifinals of their conference tournament in 15 of the past 16 years and are guided by legendary coach
Joe Foley, whose 833 career wins ranks third in the nation among active Division I head coaches.

The Little Rock men's team is guided by
Darrell Walker, who led the team to a regular season conference championship in 2019-20, but whose postseason hopes were derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic cancelling the postseason.

Season tickets are now on sale for the Trojans' 2022-23 campaign and as Little Rock begins play in the Ohio Valley Conference this season, you've got to OVC it! Little Rock's upcoming season will be bringing new opponents, new regional rivalries and
several new benefits to being a season ticket member all while bringing back more doubleheaders, more thrilling action on the hardwood and more exciting Trojan wins.

Fans that take advantage of season ticket memberships will get the best chance to experience the new videoboards being installed at the Jack Stephens Center, a new court design on the floor and the same great exciting action for which Little Rock Basketball is known.

Each OVC school is eligible to compete and win the OVC Tournament Championship, including Lindenwood and Southern Indiana, who are beginning the reclassification process to Division I. It was previously announced that should a transitioning school win an OVC Tournament Championship, the AQ shall be awarded to the tournament runner-up. Should the tournament runner-up also be a transitioning school, the AQ representative shall be the highest seed going into the tournament.

All Conference games and home non-conference contests can be seen on ESPN networks, with the majority of games broadcast on ESPN+. Additional linear exposures on ESPNU and ESPN2 that will be announced at a later date.
