Swimming and Diving to Close Regular Season At Vanderbilt

A fun sprint tradition will end the dual season on a high note before the MVC Championships next month

LITTLE ROCK - The Little Rock swimming and diving team is ready for one last chance to swim fast while un-rested, traveling to Vanderbilt on Saturday for the last dual meet of the regular season. The meet will feature primarily a sprint lineup, from 100s of each stroke to shootout-style 50s in a fun tradition with the SEC Commodores.

In a shootout race, the first race will include all swimmers. The top two swimmers from each team will then advance and swim the event again. Then the final top swimmers, one from each team, will go head-to-head in one final race. Ultimately the top two in the entire race will get the chance to swim the event three times.

The only "long" events of the day will be the 300 IM and 300 free, both races that are not official events in the NCAA lineup. The full schedule of events is listed below and results will be posted on the MeetMobile app.

Little Rock will use tomorrow's meet as a chance to get up and race while tired one last time before tapering for their conference championships. Following this weekend, the Trojans will begin to fine-tune details and rest for the Missouri Valley Conference Championships, which take place in Iowa City from February 15-18.
