FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Little Rock's women's and men's cross country teams finished the 2023 season strong on Friday as the Trojans competed at the NCAA South Central Regional. The men's team finished in tenth place, their highest finish since 2012, while the women's team placed 18th, their highest finish since 2018.
The men's team recorded 302 total points over the 10k course for the tenth place finish out of 25 teams. All of the Trojan men's team recorded career-highs on the day.
Spencer Cardinal paced the Trojans placing 41st in 31:02.4. He is now ranked ninth in Little Rock career records for the 10K.
Little Rock saw three other athletes finish in the top 60 in
Zach McPhee (31:20.5),
Andrew Payton (31:29.4), and Nick Newby (31:32.4). All three Trojans are now ranked 12th, 15th, and 17th respectively in Little Rock career records.
Little Rock Men's Cross Country Results
The women's team recorded 513 points for the 18th place finish.
Marcie Cudworth finished the season as the top Trojan finisher at every meet placing 65th in 22:16.0 over the 6K course.
Kyla Lochtefeld was the next Little Rock finisher placing 105th in 22:55.9.
