ATLANTA, Ga, - The Little Rock men's basketball team competes at the Capitol Challenge this Saturday and Sunday in Atlanta. The Trojans will face Northern Illinois Saturday at 1 p.m. CST and Georgia State Sunday at 1 p.m. CST.
Little Rock enters the contests 1-1 after losing on the road last Friday at UIC 86-71.
DeAntoni Gordon led the team in that game in points with 19 and was named the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Player of the Week.
Jamir Chaplin recorded his first double-double of the season with 10 points and a team-high ten rebounds, while
Jaylen Crocker-Johnson recorded a career-high 12 points.
Northern Illinois enters the game now 3-1 after defeating Georgia State 70-64 today. This will be the fourth meeting between Little Rock and NIU with the Trojans leading the series 2-1. The last meeting between the two teams was on November 22, 2021 with the Trojans winning 67-60.
Georgia State enters the game 1-2 after the loss today. This will be the 39th meeting between Little Rock and Georgia State with the Trojans leading 19-9. The last meeting between the two teams was on March 3, 2020. The Panthers won 89-70. Georgia State has won the past five match-ups with Little Rock.
