LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Little Rock Men's Basketball team travels to Conway, Ark. to face Central Arkansas in the Governor's I-40 Showdown on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Farris Center.
Little Rock enters the contest on a three game winning streak after defeating in-state rivals Arkansas State 77-66 on Friday. In that game, four Trojans scored in double figures with
Cougar Downing leading the team with 18 points going 8-of-8 from the free throw line and also recording a career and team high five steals.
DeAntoni Gordon recorded his first double-double of the season with 14 points and a career and team-high 15 rebounds.
Jamir Chaplin contributed 17 points, six rebounds, and three steals, while
Bradley Douglas knocked down 16 points and led the team in assists with six.
Central Arkansas enters the contest 1-9 after losing at Hawaii 95-76.
The Bears lead the all-time series against the Trojans 37-16. Little Rock won the last match-up on December 20, 2022 at home 75-66. Central Arkansas won their home contest last year against the Trojans 82-71.
The last win for Little Rock in Conway was on November 17, 2019 with the Trojans winning 76-56.
