Bianchi boasts a 3.82 grade-point-average while studying mass communications in his second year at Little Rock. He is the fourth Trojan to collect the award in the past three years for the Little Rock wrestling team. Older brother Paul was the first to be recognized two years ago.
The award will add to the growing list of accolades for the third and youngest Bianchi brother to hail from Two Rivers, Wisconsin. He just wrapped up his first year as a starter on the Trojan roster, competing at 157 pounds for Little Rock and collecting 15 wins throughout the season. Those achievements also included three wins over ranked opponents and a trip to the Pac-12 podium in his first conference tournament appearance.
To be eligible for the award, nominees must either have a 3.0 cumulative grade-point-average and earn All-American honors in the same academic year, have a 3.2 cumulative grade-point-average and have been a NCAA Tournament qualifier in the same academic year, or have a 3.5 cumulative grade-point-average and have either won 60% of their total matches in at least 60% of the team's schedule or participated at the conference qualifying tournament.
