MARTIN, Tenn. - The Little Rock Men's Basketball team dropped their second-straight contest at UT Martin Saturday losing 77-72.
Jamir Chaplin led the team in scoring with 22 points, while
KK Robinson brought down a team-high of seven rebounds.
Chaplin went 8-of-14 from the field and 4-of-8 from the free throw line, while Robinson also contributed 19 points.
Bradley Douglas knocked down 18 points including four three-pointers.
The lead changed six times throughout the game with both teams holding the lead. Little Rock took their first lead of the first half on back-to-back three-pointers by
Jordan Jefferson. The Trojans' largest lead of the half was at the 5:47 mark when another three-pointer by Jefferson brought the advantage to six points.
UT Martin used a 17-5 run to end the half and take a 41-40 lead.
The Skyhawks kept the lead in the second half until a three-pointer by Douglas at the 15:44 mark gave Little Rock the two-point lead. A jumper by Chaplin followed by another three-pointer by Douglas extended the Trojan advantage to 52-47 with 14:23 remaining.
Two free throws by UT Martin sparked a 10-0 run by the home team to regain a 61-52 lead. The Trojans answered back with a three-pointer by Robinson at the 9:08 mark.
With 4:50 left in the game, a jumper by Chaplin with the dish from
Makhel Mitchell gave Little Rock the 66-65 lead.
UT Martin regained the advantage on eight-straight points, before three free throws by Chaplin cut the lead to 73-72 with 1:51 left on the clock.
The Skyhawks closed out the half on a 4-0 lead, all free throws, to win 77-72.
Little Rock continues conference action on the road at Southern Indiana on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
