TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Little Rock cross country team finished the 2024 regular season at the Crimson Classic hosted by the University of Alabama on Friday. The men's team placed 12th overall, while the women's team finished in 13th place. The top Trojan finishers for the day were
Andrew Payton for the men and
Aaliyah Joshua for the women.
"Today, we witnessed significant improvement from the team compared to a year ago at this meet. We're thrilled to see everything coming together as we head into the OVC Championships at the end of the month. Go Trojans!" said Coach Hime on todays performance at the Crimson Classic
RESULTS
The men's team recorded a combined score of 296 to finish in 12th position as a team.
Payton recorded his second top finish for Little Rock this season placing 48th out of 152 athletes with a season-high time of 24:43.9 over the 8.07K course.
Zach Mcphee and
Nicholas Newby rounded out the top three Trojans. Mcphee placed 55th with a season-high time of 24:56.8, while Newby placed 70th in 25:08.4.
Little Rock Men's Cross Country Results
The women's team recorded a total of 383 team points to finishstrong overall in 13th position.
Joshua led women's team placing 56th overall recording a time of 21:08.1 for the 6K course.
Kyla Lochtefeld and
Marcie Cudworth rounded out the top three Little Rock women. Lochtefeld placed 85th in 21:41.9, while Cudworth placed 79th in 21:57.0.

This meet finishes out the regular season for the Trojans. Up next for the is the 2024 OVC Championships on Friday, November 1st. This year's meet will be held in Martin,Tn.
