MACOMB, Ill. – The Little Rock Trojans continue their dominant run as Candice Kilderry records back-to-back game-winning goals, leading to a victory over Western Illinois. The Trojans now hold sole possession of first place in conference play with four games remaining.
How It Happened
The Trojans dominated possession throughout the first half, recording 10 shots with five on goal, but they were unable to find the back of the net. The Leatherneck defense stood tall against the top-seeded Trojans, keeping the score at 0-0 going into halftime. In the 60th minute, Peyton Urban lined up a free kick just outside the box, finding Jaeda Centeno. Centeno sent a well-placed header to the feet of Candice Kilderry, who shuffled her way into the box and found the back of the net for the lead. Urban recorded her first career assist, in addition to her seventh shutout of the year and the 13th of her career.
Key Players
With 13 points, the Trojans now sit at the top of the conference with four games remaining. Little Rock will have a light week, with a day off on Thursday, before welcoming SEMO to the Coleman Sports Complex on Sunday, October 13th, at noon.
