LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Little Rock Men's Basketball heads back on the road to face the second place team in the Ohio Valley Conference Western Illinois Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. Fans can listen live to the broadcast on 106.7 FM The Buz2 or watch live on ESPN+.
The Trojans enter the contest 13-11 overall and 7-4 in OVC action after defeating UT Martin at home on Tuesday to move into tied for third in the conference.
In that game,
Bradley Douglas led all Trojans with 17 points, including three three-pointers, and also contributed seven rebounds.
Makhel Mitchell recorded a season-high 14 points and tied his season-high of five blocks.
Jaylen Crocker-Johnson recorded his second-straight double-double with 12 points and a team-high 11 rebounds, while
DeAntoni Gordon knocked down 12 points.
KK Robinson recorded ten points, including two three-pointers in the win.
Overall for Little Rock,
Jamir Chaplin leads the team in points averaging 16.1 per game and in rebounds averaging 6.8 per game.
Western Illinois enters the match-up15-8 overall and 8-2 in conference play after defeating Southeast Missouri on the road Saturday 76-55. Overall for the Leathernecks, Ryan Meyers leads the team in points averaging 13.6 per game, while Drew Cisse leads the team in rebounds averaging 11.8 per game.
This will be the fourth meeting between the two teams with Little Rock leading 2-1. The two teams have not played each other since December 29, 1981 when the Trojans defeated the Leathernecks 85-82 at a neutral site. The first meeting was on February 20, 1979 with Western Illinois winning 117-88 in Macomb.
