EVANSVILLE, Indiana - The Little Rock Men's Basketball Team lost 69--55 to Morehead State in the Ohio Valley Championship finals on Saturday. The Trojans had three players in double figures.
Bradley Douglas led the team in points with 14, including two three-pointers, while
KK Robinson scored 13 points and earned All-Tournament team honors.
Jamir Chaplin recorded 11 points and led the team in rebounds with six.
The first half opened with both team scoring points, with Little Rock's four points coming from
DeAntoni Gordon.
At the 15:45 mark, a three-pointer by Morehead State sparked a 17-0 run for the 21-4 lead for the Eagles. The Trojans scored their first points in six minutes with a jumper by Robinson sparking a 14-0 run for Little Rock to cut the lead to 21-18.
The Eagles scored their first points in over five minutes at the 5:32 mark on a jumper, before the team scored six-straight points to extend their lead to 29-18.
Seven-straight points from Chaplin brought the Trojans within four with 1:28 left in the half. Morehead State outscored the Trojans 3-2 in the remaining minutes to go into the half up 32-27.
The Trojans opened the second half on a 9-3 run to take their first lead of the game 36-35 with 15:44 remaining. The Eagles answered back going on a 12-3 run to regain the 47-39 advantage with 10:36 on the clock.
Little Rock scored their first points in four minutes at the 9:21 mark on a put back by
Jaylen Crocker-Johnson. Both teams scored on three-pointers, with Crocker-Johnson knocking it down for the Trojans, before Morehead State scored five-straight including a three-pointer by Drew Thelwell for the 57-44 lead with 6:59 remaining.
Over the four minutes, the Trojans out scored the Eagles 9-2 including four points by Chaplin to cut the lead to 59-53 with 4:05 remaining.
In the remaining 3:43, Morehead State scored 10 points to Little Rock's four, including eight from Thelewll for the 69-55 win.
