Anna Dawson earned her second OVC Golfer of the Month award on Monday, claiming the honor for the month of March after posting a 71.9 average over eight rounds and three tournaments during the month.
Dawson – who also won the award in October – started the month with a second-place finish at the Puerto Rico Classic with rounds of 70-71-73 to finish 2-under 214, helping the Trojans finish fourth as a team.
A week later at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Nevada, Dawson celebrated her 21
st birthday with her first collegiate victory, finishing 8-under 208. Her final round score of 66 tied the program record and helped the Trojans to a second-place team finish.
She finished the month with an 18
th place finish in the weather-shortened Georgia State Invitational, shooting 74 and 79. Dawson currently ranks second in the OVC through 24 stroke play rounds, with an average of 72.9, just 0.3 behind the conference leader.
